OMG you guys have no idea how much has happened since the last time I was on here (the Tuesday before last Tuesday) and now. I'll try to keep this short XD.
I had no idea how quickly I would make friends at boarding school, seriously, on Wednesday I started out just talking to one girl named "Katherine" (I changing everyones names on here, actually, for the sake of privacy XD) and we were discussing how much we love KPOP and then another girl named "Lindsay" said she loves KPOP too, and then a third girl named "Shannon" came in and we were like "Yeah, you can join us XD" , and that was all in ONE DAY. Then on Thursday, we went on a field trip to Walden Pond, and we were bored for like 3 hours, and another girl named "Alice" decided to sit with us, and she joined our group too. So those four are my core group of friends at boarding school, along with "Lottie", who is a day student who joined us on Friday, which was orientation day for all of the freshmen.
I've also been talking to a lot of "friend-boys" lately (not to be confused with "boy-friends" XD), including "Renald", "Norman", and "Oran" who come to sit with us at lunch sometimes
. There are also three boys I know on the cross-country team (which I have to be on FOR NO GOOD REASON -_______- ... it's not that I hate it, it just makes me SUPER TIRED. BUT I'll get to that later.) and we are the "60 Crew" because on our first cross country meet last Wednesday, we all came in places in the 60s. "Garry" is a freshman, "Mark" is a junior, and "Key" is a sophomore (who everyone thinks I like but I'mliterallynotsurewhetherIdoornotI'msoconfused). He's really nice, though, if a bit socially awkward (but I am too so it doesn't matter XD).
Then there are the REALLY ANNOYING mean girls. Yeah, there are mean girls. And there's a mean boy too >< . There's "Lacy", who is at least tolerable, "Georgia" (who is unfortunately MY roommate -________-) who is snobby but knows when to keep her mouth shut, and the worst of them is "Laura" (GOD why does everyone's name here start with L ???? I kept the first letter of everyone's names, but changed everything else) who literally had the AUDACITY to say my dinner smelled like old feet (it was my after-fencing dinner of past with red sauce and cheese), threw one of my balloons outside (my mom brought in a bunch of balloons for my room to celebrate my moving in
) which I didn't actually see with my own eyes but saw my balloon outside and figured out what happened, AND when "Shannon", "Alice", "Laura" and I were in the bathroom together (which is SUPER TINY by the way. There's only 2 shower stalls which are really small and your constantly bumping your elbows into something, one toilet stall, and one sink), here's what happened:
Me (at the sink) starts talking to "Shannon" and "Alice" who are both showering
"Laura" walks in and says "Hi, (insert my name here)"
I say "Hi" back and continue talking to my friends
"Laura" asks who else is in the bathroom with me and walks into the toilet stall
I say "Shannon" and "Alice" are with me.
With the door to the stall closed so I can't see her, "Laura" goes right out and says, "Hey, fatty."
My friends and I are stunned silent for 10 seconds or so.
Then we change the subject.
"Laura" flushes and I move out of the way to let her use the sink, and then she walks out.
The three of us silently sigh with relief.
I assume "Laura" was talking to "Shannon" when she said "Hey, fatty" because "Shannon" is a heavy-set girl, but it's a family trait that got carried down to her, I believe, because I've seen both of her parents before and they are also heavyset. Still, that was SO NOT COOL >________< (BUT I had my revenge! Or should I say, poetic justice!!! The next day, I left a note of "Laura"'s door that said, and I quote:
"Is that the best you can come up with?
Sometimes I think your brain is a thing of myth
Have a nice day
Even though your attitude is not okay"
And I signed it with an anagram of my full name which I can't even remember the anagram of because it was so complicated XD.
I was leaving "Katherine"'s room at one point when I saw "Laura" and her crew all huddled around her door, and I was thinking "Oh shit!" and I ducked into my room and closed my door. From outside, I could hear "Laura" say, "Who left this note on my door?!?!?!?!".
This is our little secret, Internet >
XD . But seriously, that was a warning. If she does anything like that again, I'm telling the principal.
But wait, there's more! About the mean boy, who will be called "Alan" in this journal, who is unfortunately in most of my classes (actually, a lot of my classes have more boys than girls in them because although the number of freshman boarding boys and freshman boarding girls is about equal, there are only TWO freshman day student girls (including "Lottie", my day student friend), and a lot of freshman day student boys. Anyway, when I was in my Physics class, we got assigned in partners to do this thing called the Lego Challenge, where we had to build something with a set of legos and write down the exact steps of how we built it so another group could build what we built. Trust me, it was harder than it sounds.
I was partnered up with one of the international students, who will called "Janice" is this journal, and she came here all the way from China! There's a big number of international girls, most of them are from China, and another freshman girl who is on the cross country team with me is from Taiwan (did I mention there are like 12 boys on the cross country team, and only THREE girls on the team including me, and all of the girls are freshmen? We don't have the strongest girl's team in the world, in short -________- ) "Debby", the Taiwanese girl, recently sprained her ankle at our first meet, and her friend "Eloise", who is from China, walked with her the whole way after. "Debby" has been sitting out of our practices for the past few days, and "Eloise" has 0 running experience, so I've kind of been carrying the girls side of team XD. Fortunately, we have a female coach who keeps our spirits up, and us girls are very supportive of eachother :3 )
Anyway, I went off topic. So "Janice" and I are doing the lego challenge, and I'm letting "Janice" do the building and I'm writing the steps because her english skills aren't very good yet. It's just hard to understand her accent and she doesn't know too many words yet, but her grammar is actually pretty good
. Then, when we had to build "Alan"'s model, I had her read the directions to me (so I gave her a little challenge, but not too much yet
) and I built the model.
The funny part was that "Laura" and "Georgia" had to build the model "Janice" and I wrote the directions for, and I constantly used the word "vertically" to talk about how the pieces were positioned, and when we saw their finished project, they obviously didn't know what the word "vertical" meant, because they put all of the pieces HORIZONTALLY XDXDXDXDXD fail.
Okay, but now for the serious part. After we finished building "Alan"'s model, we were pretty inaccurate with it too, and "Alan", who happened to be sitting next to "Janice", while I was also next to "Janice", wasn't very happy about that. "Alan" started giving "Janice" this look.... it's kind of hard to describe... but it was like he was shooting telepathic missiles and daggers or something, and at first we thought he was joking. I asked "Janice", "What is he doing?" and she said "I don't know!" and we started laughing and I waved my hand in front of his face. His expression didn't change, but he looked away after a while. After a few moments, he looked at her again, but his expression was a little different. His eyebrows were raised, like he was trying to say, "Are you really this stupid?". At that point, I knew he wasn't joking. I'm not sure if "Janice" got the message or not, because I was just looking at him, and I'm not even sure who looked away first, because our teacher started talking and we had to pay attention to him.
When we left the room to go to our next class, I saw "Alan" as he was walking out, and he put his hands next to his head in a position that looked like he was shooting himself. Gee whiz, dude. She's still learning english! Give me a break!
Anyhow, the people there that are mean are pretty mean. But the people that are nice are REALLY nice. Including my friends, but also my teachers. First off, my math teacher is FREAKING AWESOME. She seems really enthusiastic about what she does and really patient and considerate and has a good sense of humor and all that good stuff. Thank God, a teacher that can make math tolerable! If some of you don't know already, math is not my greatest subject. My math teacher last year was also awesome, and this teacher is probably just as awesome if not even more so!
My English teacher reminds me so much of my Dad, I'm not even kidding! And I love my Dad, so naturally, I also love my English teacher XD. He's really serious about people getting along, but he is also bombastic and wacky and goes off topic sometimes, but knows how to make a boring story interesting too. Hurray!
My History teacher (aka World Civilizations teacher) also seems like a cool guy
. He likes to be sarcastic sometimes and has a great sense of humor, and he has been giving us some interesting assignments so far, so I don't think I will get bored in his class either XD. Oh yeah, and when he gave the class a two minute break a few days ago and "Katherine" and I were looking at her phone, she pulled up a picture of blob fish. If you don't know what blob fish looks like, it's this really weird looking fish that is kind of pasty pink/white, looks slimy, with black beady eyes, and a big round nose and drooping mouth. My History teacher asked us what we were looking at, and "Katherine" showed him blob fish, and his face lit up with a wide smile and he laughed and asked, "What is that?!"
My Physics teacher and Spanish teacher don't seem very impressive, but their not horrible either XD. And my skills and academic support teacher seems nice (skills and academic support is pretty much a study hall with benefits XD), he's from Germany and has this weird name that is pronounced in a strange way that only I can pronounce XD (because I'm also German
)
The campus is really cool, there's this big pond in the middle of it and ducks usually bathe in there :3 . And it also includes the biggest and oldest spiral staircase in New England
. It's a neat place, to say the least XD. (I'm sorry, I don't want to go into too many descriptions and things because I'm super tired XD and I've already spent like an hour on this journal >_____< )
Yeah. I'm WIPED. Absolutely TIRED AS HELL. Cross country every day, fencing for 2 and a half hours three days a week, first week of boarding school, social insanity... it all took A LOT OUT OF ME. When I came home for the weekend, I was so exhausted, you have no idea. On Thursday's fencing practice, I kept failing in my private lesson because I was so tired. I was late to my first class on Friday because I had lost track of time. On Saturday, my eyes were hurting ALL DAY. From morning 'till night. My mom was gonna have me mow the lawn but then was like, "Nahh, I can do it." She said I looked like shit XD. I was speaking slowly and wasn't walking at all, really, I was just zombie-walking XD. I was supposed to go to a fencing competition in New Jersey today and wake up at 3 AM in order to get there, but according to my mom, she COULD NOT wake me up XDXD. So I'm still at home today
, that's how tired I am, but I do feel a lot better today than I did yesterday XD.
Well, I gotta eat lunch now XD. That's a wrap. (My mom also just gave me a shoulder massage, it was PAINFUL. I was SO TENSE it's NOT EVEN FUNNY. But I do feel better after that too
)
